Is connecting with people that look like you an automatic thing?

Day 2 of 14 of NLP Master Practitioner RE-Certification coaching complete.

These 10-hour days of sitting in a classroom are not for the weak. 😩

I saw a few faces of color today. Didn’t make any connections with them though. I find it odd how ‘we’ can sometimes be in a room full of people that don’t look like us but avoid eye contact with the ones that do.

Maybe it’s me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I just make it a point to give a ‘what’s good’ nod or gesture of some sort to another person of color when I’m in these settings where we represent less than 1% of the room. It’s sort of an unspoken high five, ya know…

Anywho, I digress…

On a positive note, I learned some interesting connection techniques at a deeper level that are designed to get clients out of their own way faster.
I’m super grateful for those teachings.

I also learned another level of negotiation techniques that will pop the top off of my 3rd party arbitration skills when I’m working with two clients that have opposing views. Very intriguing…to say the least.

NLP is such powerful work. If you’ve never heard of it, look it up for yourself. Learning even the basic principles of it is life changing.

Thank me later. 😘

P.S. I think I’m going to teach the basics of NLP to my EXPANSION coaching clients next month at our coaching retreat in Atlanta. I have a handful of Public Registration tickets still available at www.coachkellyj.com/coachingretreats.
